I’m Nate Hutchinson, Identity & SecOps Lead at Threatscape, where I help organisations design, secure, and operationalise Microsoft cloud security services across identity, endpoint, security operations, compliance, and modern workplace.
My work focuses heavily on Microsoft Entra ID, Defender XDR, Microsoft Purview, Intune, Microsoft 365, and secure AI adoption. I spend a lot of time helping customers turn complex Microsoft security capabilities into practical, defensible designs that work in the real world.
Before joining Threatscape, I spent several years working for an MSP, which gave me valuable experience in a helpdesk environment and a strong appreciation for the realities of supporting users, devices, and services day to day. Although I wore many different hats during that time, my primary role was as a Microsoft 365 consultant, helping customers adopt, configure, and secure Microsoft cloud technologies.
I was part of the team responsible for managing the organisation’s own Microsoft 365 strategy. That meant deploying new features, improving security controls, and helping ensure we practised what we preached when advising customers.
I’m a Microsoft Security MVP and co-founded Experts Live UK, a community event platform focused on bringing Microsoft technology professionals together to share knowledge, experience, and practical lessons from the field. Community has played a big part in my career, whether through events, blogging, speaking, podcasts, or technical content.
This site is where I share field notes, deployment guidance, lessons learned, and honest thoughts from working hands-on with Microsoft security technologies.
My aim is simple: make complex cloud security topics clearer, more practical, and easier to implement.
